About the author:
Amanda Botha is an award-winning journalist and writer with an extended career in the creative- and performing arts world. She published multiple articles about the visual arts in South Africa and international publications. As curator for the Stellenbosch Wordfest, she presented retrospective exhibitions on the work of various South African artists, such as Marjorie Wallace, Sheila Cussons, Hardy Botha, Andries Botha, Willie Bester, Adriaan van Zyl, Walter Meyer, Paul Emsley and Herman van Nazaret. She is the author of seven books, amongst them the biographies of the prima ballerina assoluta, Phyllis Spira, the artist Marjorie Wallace; Lost in Dust based on John Meyer’s Anglo-Boer War paintings and Dagboeke based on the diaries of Johannes Meintjes.
